Teeth Whitening at the Dentist
Having your teeth whitened at Kuhr Dental Group couldn’t be easier. Here’s what you can expect during your appointment:
- Dr. Kuhr will examine your mouth to ensure that your teeth are healthy.
- If he determines that you’re a good candidate for teeth whitening, he will apply a special gel to your gums to protect them.
- Next, he will coat the surface of your teeth with a professional-strength whitening solution. An LED light will be used to lift the stains from your teeth.
- This process will be repeated until your desired results have been achieved.
Custom Trays for At-Home Teeth Whitening
In addition to in-office whitening treatments, we can also provide our patients with custom whitening trays to use in the comfort of their own homes. At-home trays are also great for touching up your smile’s brightness between in-office whitening treatments.
At Kuhr Dental Group, each new patient can enjoy free at-home whitening for life! Once you are at the point where your teeth are healthy and stable enough to be whitened, we will take impressions and fabricate your custom whitening trays. When you come in for your hygiene visit every six months, we’ll provide you with two new tubes of whitening gel to use with your trays.
Existing patients can still take advantage of our at-home whitening for life program. Simply refer a friend or family member to our office or pay $99 for the lab fee to have your custom trays created.
Is Professional Dental Whitening Painful?
Professional dental whitening should be virtually painless. Sometimes, a patient may experience mild sensitivity immediately following their procedure. This should be short-lived and resolve on its own within a few hours.
How Long Does In-Office Teeth Whitening Take?
The length of your teeth whitening appointment will depend on the condition of your teeth, how quickly the stains lift, and how many applications your teeth require. Most patients can expect their treatment to take about half an hour.
